The Employment Situation Report presents statistics from two major surveys, the Current Population Survey and the Current Employment Statistics survey. The household survey provides information on the labor force, employment, and unemployment. It is a sample survey of about 60,000 eligible households.

Labor productivity is a measure of economic performance that compares the amount of goods and services produced (output) with the number of hours worked to produce those goods and services. Two BLS programs produce Labor Productivity and Costs measures for sectors of the US economy: Major Sector Productivity program & Industry Productivity program. The Major Sector Productivity program develops quarterly labor productivity measures for the major US economic sectors. The Industry Productivity program develops annual labor productivity and unit labor cost measures for US industries.

The Atlanta Fed's Wage Growth Tracker is a measure of the nominal wage growth of individuals. It is constructed using microdata from the Current Population Survey (CPS), and is the median percent change in the hourly wage of individuals observed 12 months apart. Our measure is based on methodology developed by colleagues at the San Francisco Fed.
